Week 2, Reflection

This week was full of readings and assignments that were exciting in their themes and learning process. For example, ABCD Method of writing objectives by Heinich was valuable to learn and practice in writing objectives for 9grade biology students. When I wrote objectives, I applied to revised Bloom’s Taxonomy that helped me to distinguish the level of understanding, remembering, and evaluating. Slide show presentation on ABCD Model (from readings) was supportive to understand better it. Information from there helped me to use example and analyze this method. It was clear from slide show that we have to consider who are our learners, their background and other factors.
I like the way of communication with my Professor and classmates. There are several opportunities to write a personal message through the Nicenet and personal e-mail; the message that can read all of us and comment; to post /or comment in the blog. Thus, we are “open” for communication and discussion and creating a free dialogue with our participants.
At this week we discussed the best search engines and web searching. In the task “Web Search Tools”, I could investigate different portals, search engines, and web-sites that are helpful for educational needs and my interests. This is an interesting topic and all of us shared their best choice. My colleagues reminded to me some web-sites and they introduced some of them to others. Mostly, I am interested in:
• http://rubistar.4teachers.org/ (Presented by Wilma);
• http://lgdata.s3-website-us-east-1.amazonaws.com/docs/319/256951/How_to_get_to_the_full_text_from_the_library%27s_catalog.pdf. (Gabriela);
• Altavista www.google.co.uk , http://search-pdf-books.com/ (for books), for videos http://www.dailymotion.com/ and for lesson plans, activities, worksheets and ideas in general I use http://www.tefl.net/ (Presented by Luis)
• youtube.com subtitled songs, recorded lessons) slideshare.net (ppt presentations) (Presented by Ion)
• http://www.archive.org/ (Celeste)
• SweetSearch" (Xavier Pradheep Singh )
• http://exchanges.state.gov/englishteaching/resources-et.html (Janeth)

I will search through this sites educational information and share it with my colleagues.
Search engines and sites that I usually use, I posted into the Nicenet for sharing and discussing.
Through the blogging, I am learning how to share experience in reflection.
I can use my new knowledge and skills that I gained in this week. In August I will organize a professional development course for teachers of science from Osh city and Khorogh (Tajikistan). I will definitely use reading materials to analyze revised Bloom’s Taxonomy, write clear learning objectives for the lesson, and use ABCD Model. In addition, I like the way of writing reflection in blogs, I can also try to use it with my future participants at the course.

  4. Hi Natalya,

    Great summary of this week's assignments! ;-)

    I agree with Ion that this has been a busier week, but it will surely leave a mark!

    Noodletools has, in fact, such an exhaustive list of resources that it really helps to know people's opinions on the different sites.
